The funeral programme included prayers, the reading of his eulogy, a church service, tributes from family and friends, speeches, a vote of thanks and the final burial rites.
Among those who attended to honour the late musician were media personality Katumbi, entertainers Ndeke ya Muthanga, DJ Biado, Kana Niccoh, Kinara and Ututi wa Kyuma, together with many other artistes and supporters.
The burial followed a memorial service held a few days earlier at Kifaru Lounge in Nairobi’s South B estate, where musicians and fans celebrated Solo Sita’s contribution to Kamba benga music.
One of the most emotional moments during the funeral was a tribute from his children, who thanked their father for his sacrifices and described him as a loving parent who remained committed to his family despite life’s challenges.
They said they would always treasure the values he instilled in them and promised to keep his memory alive.
The eulogy stated that Solo Sita was born on January 20, 1977, to the late Mary Muve Kamba. He was the firstborn in a family of five and grew up in Makueni, where he attended primary school.
His passion for music started at a young age, with his exceptional guitar-playing skills later becoming the foundation of his successful career.
After completing primary school, he pursued music in Mombasa, Nairobi and other parts of Kenya, earning widespread recognition as a talented guitarist and eventually adopting the stage name Solo Sita.
Throughout his career, he collaborated with both established and upcoming musicians, contributing guitar arrangements to numerous Kamba benga recordings.
He also released several albums with Kyutu Boys Band, including a gospel project, and continued engaging fans through performances and recordings. In later years, he remained active on YouTube and TikTok, where he shared musical performances.
The family also recalled the health challenges he faced in recent years.

According to the eulogy, Solo Sita was seriously injured in a road accident in 2018 and spent several months receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital. Although he recovered, he continued experiencing recurring health complications.

The family said the complications later developed into Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), requiring him to use a portable oxygen concentrator at home.
He was admitted to hospital on June 27, 2026, after experiencing severe headaches and body pains. His condition worsened over the following days, and despite medical intervention, he died from multiple organ failure on the night of July 2, 2026. His death was announced the following day.
