According to the former Deputy President, Kenyans have asked him to convince his political allies that he is the strongest candidate to lead the coalition. He cited his leadership experience, national political networks, public trust and capacity as some of the factors supporting his candidature.
Gachagua said those who support his bid believe he possesses the energy, experience, leadership skills, political infrastructure and nationwide support needed to win the 2027 election.

He, however, maintained that he would not become an obstacle to efforts aimed at uniting the opposition behind one presidential candidate.
The former DP said that should the coalition settle on another candidate, he and his supporters would fully support whoever is chosen.
He stressed that the larger objective should be ensuring the United Democratic Government fields a single candidate capable of mounting a strong challenge in the 2027 polls.

Gachagua also announced the conclusion of the 55-day consultations at his Wamunyoro residence, where Kenyans shared their concerns and offered suggestions on how the country could be improved.
He thanked those who took part in the consultations, saying their views would continue to shape his political engagements.
Despite the conclusion of the Wamunyoro meetings, Gachagua said his engagement with Kenyans would continue across the country and beyond.
He insisted that his political journey and commitment to his cause remained unchanged, signalling continued activity ahead of the 2027 General Election.
