The Lower Eastern Times Opening The Third Eye
Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in selected areas of Nairobi and six other counties on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The utility said the temporary outages are part of planned network maintenance intended to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the affected areas.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, Kenya Power urged customers in the listed areas to make the necessary preparations ahead of the planned shutdowns.
The company said the affected areas would undergo network maintenance on Thursday, apologising to customers for any inconvenience caused by the exercise.
Nairobi Areas Affected
In Nairobi, several areas are scheduled to experience power interruptions between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
In Imara Daima, the affected areas include Maziwa Stage, M-Gas Mukuru Depot, Villa Police Station, Wapewape Road, Embakasi Girls, Muindi Mweusi Supermarket, Mukuru kwa Njenga, Chaminade, St. Mary’s Hospital, Kware Police Post and Pipeline Chairmans.
Parts of Kilimani and Ngong Road will also be affected, including Ngong Road, Muchai Drive, Coptic Hospital, China Centre, Kabarnet Road, School of Nursing, City Oil, National Oil, Uchumi, Ngong Road Hotel and Bishop Magua.
Other affected locations along Oloitoktok Road and Ole Dume Road include Argwings Kodhek Road, Elgeyo Marakwet Road, Methodist Guest House, Muringa Road, Kirichwa Road, Menelik Road, Quickmart Kilimani, Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Green House, Double Tree Hotel, Quivers Kilimani and Adams Arcade.
Mt Kenya and Coast Regions
In Murang’a County, areas including Gakurwe, Mugeka, Gaturi and Mukurwe will experience outages between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
In Laikipia County, Chumvi and Doldo are scheduled for interruptions from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, while Moyale and Butiye will be affected between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm.
In the Coast Region, Changamwe, Magongo and Port Reitz in Mombasa are scheduled for outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Western and South Nyanza
In Kisumu County, areas around KESREF and Great Lakes University will be without electricity between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
In Migori County, residents in Kehancha and Taranganya will experience interruptions from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Meanwhile, several areas listed under the North Eastern maintenance schedule, including Komo, Munyu, Magana, Carbacid, Kimende, Gitithia, Kamathiitu and Musosya Secondary, are expected to experience outages between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Kenya Power has advised customers in all affected areas to plan accordingly as the maintenance work is carried out.
