Tanzanians Injured in Protests to be Treated in Kenya

Various hospitals in Kenya have begun receiving Tanzanian citizens injured in the protests, especially in the border towns of Isebania – Sirari,

As of Friday, October 31, approximately 25 Tanzanian citizens who crossed the border into Kenya had been treated at different hospitals in Migori County in the west of the country.

According to The Standard, a statement from Isebania Police Station indicates that the victims entered the country through unofficial border routes, with six of them suffering from gunshot wounds.

BNM Hospital treated and discharged four patients with stab wounds, while admitting one patient who was shot.

Emalia Community Hospital received two patients with gunshot wounds and referred them to Migori Hospital for specialized treatment.

Getontira Hospital received six patients, three were admitted and three were referred to other hospitals, while Queen Easter Hospital admitted one patient who was shot and was later discharged home after his condition improved.

Mr. Bones Hospital treated nine cases of patients with broken bones, although it did not record any gunshot wounds.

Health and security officials in Migori County continue to closely monitor the situation, amid fears that the number of casualties crossing the border could increase if the unrest in Tanzania continues.
