In a TikTok video shared on Sunday, December 7, 2025, Kanyari explained that he had long remained silent on issues concerning Betty and her family, but felt compelled to speak after hearing from her mother.
“My name is Pastor Kanyari, or Prophet Kanyari. I didn’t want to talk about Betty Bayo or the mother of my children. I knew many things but stayed quiet. However, after hearing from Betty’s mother, I felt I had to speak,” he said.
Kanyari described the immense grief of Betty’s mother, noting that she had lost her child and was enduring deep pain while in the U.S.
“She is the mother who has lost her child. Everyone knows she is in America and grieving deeply. I lost the mother of my children, and Tash lost his wife, even though they had separated for the last three months. But she is the mother of that child,” he explained.
He called on Tash to listen to and respect Mama Betty’s advice.
“I am deeply moved by her grief and ask Tash to heed her counsel. Do not incur the displeasure of the deceased or her mother while she is still alive. Listen to her guidance,” Kanyari added.
The pastor emphasized that while others may underestimate her grief, he cannot.
“Some people might dismiss her, but I cannot. She has lost her child—the one she nurtured and took care of. Even though the children are mine, I will still listen to her,” Kanyari said.

He reiterated that despite being the father of the children, he respects Betty’s mother and will follow her guidance.
“I, Pastor Kanyari, will listen to her. Yes, the children are mine, but I will respect her,” he said, stressing the importance of compassion and respecting grieving parents.

Kanyari’s statements followed remarks from Betty’s mother during a live session with Joyce Wairimu on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She praised Kanyari, calling him a good man and noting that they maintain a cordial relationship.

Joyce revealed that she has been in direct contact with Kanyari regarding custody of the children, Sky and Danny, and encouraged him to prioritize securing full custody to ensure their safety and well-being.
“Besides everything I have said about Tash, I want to say that Kanyari is a good man, and we have a very good friendship. With these new developments, I spoke to him recently and asked him to prioritize seeking full custody of his children,” she said.
