Kenya Power has announced a scheduled electricity outage that will affect sections of seven counties on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
In a notice issued on Saturday, November 22, the company said the interruptions are necessary to facilitate crucial maintenance and system upgrades.
Nairobi County
In Nairobi, power will be off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Cotton Avenue area. The blackout will cover Cotton Road, parts of Dennis Pritt Road, Kayawe Road, Galana Road, sections of Argwings Kodhek Road, Ring Road Kilimani, parts of Lenana Road, Chania Avenue and Wood Avenue. Other affected areas include parts of Kirichwa Road, Adlife Plaza, East Lands Hotel, the French School, Yaya Centre, Prestige Plaza, Mugo Kibiru, Moi Girls Kibera, Toi Market, Woodley Estate, Jamhuri Estate, Togo Flats, sections of Suna Road and Ngong Road, Toi Primary School, Ola Petrol Station, Naivas on Argwings Kodhek Road, Joseph Kangethe Road, parts of Kindaruma Road, Nyeri Road, Mwingi Road, Othaya Road, Kaptei Gardens, Gatundu Close, parts of Tende Drive, Apple Close, Kabaserian Avenue, Chalbi Drive, Kangemi Waruku, Lavington West, Njumbi Road, Muthangari Police, Kanjata Crescent, Muthangari Road, Oloitoktok Road, Riara Road, Siaya Road, Dikdik Gardens, Kileleshwa Police, Mandera Road, Mugumo Road, Mageta Road, Isaac Gathanju, Lavington Shopping Centre, part of Gitanga Road, Elmolo Drive, Masanduku Lane, Maji Mazuri Avenue, Ndoto Road, Makini School, Jacaranda Avenue, Ole Dume Road, Menelik Road, Adams Arcade, Marakwet Road, Elgeyo Marakwet Road, Kilimani Road, Ndemi Road, Koibatek Springs, Migori Road, Githunguri Road, Laikipia Road, Olenguruone Road, Valley Arcade and James Gichuru Road and neighbouring users.
Machakos County
Katani will have no power from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, affecting Shajanand, EPCO, Shangilia, Seme, Kambi, Blowplast, Kutchi Road, Greatwall Apartments, Rim House and nearby customers.
Nakuru County
A section of Nakuru CBD will experience an outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, including part of Moi Road, Nuru Palace, Sakinya Motors, Regena Hotel, Central Police, the National Library, Moi Flats and the SDA Church.
Uasin Gishu County
From 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Biocorn, Steel Mills, Eldocraft, Kidiwa Estate, Mwanzo Estate, Majengo Catholic Church and Our Lady of Assumption School will be affected.
Kisumu County
Several locations will undergo varying outage periods:
• Kibos Prison, Tamuwa, CIBO, White Coal, Sugar Research, Gita, Kajulu Water and Got Nyabondo (8:30 am–5:00 pm)
• Muhoroni Town, Agro Chemical, Homaline, Koru Town, Tamu, Awasi Town, AFC, Muhoroni Factory, Songoh Market, Ziplin Factory, Golden Bricks, Gogni Quarry, Stone Field, Prime Steel, Rock Land Quarry (8:00 am–4:00 pm)
• Holo, Kombewa, Kolenyo, Akado, Reru, Ngere High, Bar Korua Girls Boarding (9:00 am–11:00 am)
• Chiga Market, Kasese, Land Matope, Masawa, Kalusi, Rweya, Obumba, Achuodho (8:30 am–5:00 pm)
Kisii County
Kiabusura and Motonto, including Nyagoge Girls, Kiabusura, Motonto and Nyagancha Dispensary, will be off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Kilifi County
Parts of Matsangoni will be affected between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, including Mpenda Kula, Matsangoni, Mkiringi, Uyombo, Gede, Mida, Roka and Mkangagani along with surrounding homes and businesses.
