It began when the musician shared a heartfelt birthday message to his estranged wife, Edday Nderitu, who currently resides in the United States.

The gesture attracted attention, with fans and followers commenting on the couple’s complicated relationship.

Soon after, Samidoh made headlines again—this time for posting a cryptic message about death. In the now-deleted post, he reflected on the idea of dying before his time, stating that he had lived life to the fullest, given his best, and wished to be remembered as someone whose heart burned with passion.

Although he removed the post shortly after publishing it, screenshots circulated widely, prompting a wave of speculation among Kenyans online. Some interpreted the message as a cry for help, while others questioned whether he was facing threats or simply engaging in publicity stunts.

Adding to the speculation, a recent video of Samidoh performing went viral, showing him urging fans to chant “Wantam”—a term used by the opposition to refer to a “one-term” presidency, targeting President William Ruto. This has led some to believe the singer may be under political pressure or intimidation.

The reactions online have been varied:

“Looks like someone is threatening Samidoh and his brother,” remarked Mathenge Karungu.

“These sound like suicidal thoughts. What’s troubling the Mugithi star?” asked Coletta Aluda.

Starehe MP Amos Mwago called for a welfare check on the artist: “Can someone check on Samidoh? Is he okay?”

“He went offline after the post. Kenyans seem to be rallying behind him,” noted Maina Ndung’u.

“Samidoh is going through a tough time—maybe because of that song he performed,” said Afande Jaymo.

“Is this a serious issue or just clout chasing? Either way, something’s going on,” Cathy Mutuku commented.

While the exact cause of Samidoh’s emotional message remains unclear, the public response underscores the concern many Kenyans feel for the beloved singer’s well-being.
