Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina has received an international accolade in the United Kingdom for her exemplary efforts in championing youth and women leadership in Kenya through the Tupange Kesho initiative.

Maina was honoured during her recent visit to Milton Keynes, where she was warmly welcomed by local leaders and community members. Dignitaries present included MP Emily Darlington, Mayor Cllr.

Marie Bradburn, Deputy Mayor Cllr. James Lancaster, Cllr. Tony, the SMK Gateway team, Cllr. Uroy, Cllr. Mohammed Khan, Group Leader Cllr. Jane Carr, and High Sheriff Kurshida Mirza.
Expressing her appreciation, Maina said, “I thank God for always guiding me and giving me the grace to serve. We began Tupange Kesho to uplift the people of Kirinyaga and didn’t expect such global recognition.”

Tupange Kesho is a transformative program aimed at equipping women and youth with leadership skills, mentorship, and economic empowerment opportunities.

Maina also paid tribute to her team back home, stating that their dedication has been key to realising the vision of the initiative.
