Government announces 789 vacancies in Public Service

The Government of Kenya has revealed 789 job openings spanning various ministries and state departments.

According to a notice seen by The Lower Eastern Times, the Public Service Commission (PSC) stated that eligible Kenyan citizens have until March 19 to apply.

“The commission’s CEO urged interested and qualified individuals to submit their applications online through the commission’s website or jobs portal by March 19, 2024,” the notice stated.

Details regarding available positions and the requisite qualifications can be accessed on the PSC website.

Among the vacancies, the Ministry of Health is in search of a Director General of Health. Additionally, the State Department for Health and Professional Standards aims to fill 26 senior positions including Deputy Director General for Health, Directors in Health Management Services and Public Health, as well as Senior Deputy Directors.

The State Department for ASALS and Regional Development is also recruiting a Secretary for Special Programmes.

Meanwhile, the State Department for Public Service is seeking Secretaries for roles in Management Consultancy Services, Human Resource Services, and Counselling and Wellness Services. Additionally, there are openings for Human Resource Information Officers II, Human Resource Management and Development Officers II, Human Resource Management Assistant III, Psychological Counsellors, Management Analyst II (Organization), Office Administrators II, and Assistant Office Administrators III.

In the domain of Livestock Development, vacancies include Veterinary Officers, Animal Health Officers, Zoologists, Laboratory Analysts, Leather Development Officers, Livestock Production Officers, Lecturers, Assistant Animal Health Officers III, Laboratory Technologists III, Assistant Leather Development Officers III, Assistant Livestock Production Officers III, Registered Nurse III, and Library Assistant III.

The State Department for Mining is also recruiting for positions such as Secretary for Mines, Secretary for Geological Survey, Directors in Geological Survey and Research, Mineral Exploration and Evaluation, Environment and Engineering Geology, Licensing, Compliance and Enforcement, as well as Director of Commercial Explosives.

Additionally, there are openings for Senior Principal Superintending Inspectors of Explosives, Deputy Directors in Artisanal Mining, Quarrying Operations and Value Addition, Mining (Mineral Audit, Mines Health, Safety, and Environment), Assistant Directors in Artisanal Mining, Quarrying Operations and Value Addition, Chief Superintending Inspector of Explosives Officers, and Senior Principal Laboratory Technologists.
