A 31-year-old woman was found dead in her home in Exritive village, Ngawa Sub-location, Nyandarua County, in what police are treating as a suspected domestic homicide followed by mob justice.

Hours later, authorities traced the suspect, Peter Theuri, 46, Nyambura’s husband, to Karampton Shopping Centre, where an angry crowd reportedly attacked and killed him on the spot.

Both bodies were taken to Nyahururu Referral Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending postmortem examinations.

Police urged the public to allow investigations to follow lawful procedures and warned against taking the law into their own hands.

Other Incidents

In a separate case, a three-year-old girl died in Muathe Village, Kitui Sub-location, from suspected poisoning, while her twin brother was hospitalized in critical condition.

A relative said neighbors reported that the twins were vomiting and crying uncontrollably, prompting the mother and neighbors to rush them to Ikutha Level 4 Hospital, where the girl was pronounced dead on arrival and the boy admitted for treatment. The girl’s body was taken to Mutomo Morgue pending postmortem, and police are investigating possible poisoning.

Meanwhile, police in Bumula arrested two suspects following the death of Ignatious Barasa, initially thought to be illness-related. Investigations revealed, based on a tip-off, that Barasa was allegedly assaulted by the suspects as a form of discipline after reportedly being drunk and unruly.

Barasa’s body was moved to Bungoma County Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem, while the suspects remain in custody pending arraignment in court. Authorities urged the public to report acts of violence and let law enforcement handle investigations through proper legal channels.
