Sabatia Subcounty Police Commander Peter Mbua confirmed the closure, citing the disturbing nature of the incident.

Deputy Head Teacher Oscar Changilwa said the situation left both students and staff deeply shaken. “The pupils are traumatised, especially since they had just laid their head teacher to rest. The teaching staff is equally affected,” he said.

According to Changilwa, the school had reopened for remedial classes when, around 7 a.m., a pupil reported seeing a human head in the toilet.

Upon inspection, teachers confirmed the disturbing find and immediately notified relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Education, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

All school toilets were subsequently demolished to facilitate a thorough investigation and search for additional remains. “It’s tragic that such a heinous act occurred within a learning institution,” Changilwa added, strongly condemning the incident.
