Nelson Ibrahim Kidero, alias Nelson Muriithi, stunned the Milimani Law Courts after telling Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi that he was hungry and wanted milk and bread before being sent back to prison.
Kidero, who previously claimed President William Ruto was his father and that he had unlawfully accessed Bunge Towers in search of his 13 wives, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, to charges of entering the parliamentary parking area on August 7.
The 20-year-old revealed he did not possess a national ID, saying he was meant to apply for one after completing a seven-year jail term at Kamiti Maximum Prison.
When asked if he was ready to post bail, Kidero said he preferred to return to Kamiti Prison. His response prompted Magistrate Ekhubi to order an urgent mental assessment, scheduled for October 1, at Kenyatta National Hospital.
During the session, the magistrate inquired if he was being fed at Industrial Area Prison.
“Not much, but right now I’m hungry,” Kidero replied, requesting milk and bread.
The exchange drew laughter when he attempted to calculate the cost, insisting the items would not cost less than Ksh120. The magistrate then gave his assistant Ksh500 to ensure Kidero was served.
Kidero has previously told the court that Industrial Area Prison is haunted by demons and insisted only he could expel them. He contradicted himself on whether he preferred Kamiti or Industrial Area, at one point dismissing Kamiti as “for mashoga (guys),” to the amusement of those in attendance.
He further complained that despite being served plenty of food at Industrial Area, including githeri and ugali, he would rather suffer at home in Kayole than remain in prison.
The case will be mentioned on October 9, 2025.
