Salasya Demands Arrest of ‘Russian Guy’ Over Viral Videos Scandal

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has demanded the arrest of a Russian national accused of filming and circulating videos of Kenyan women without their permission.

In a statement released on Saturday, February 14, 2026, Salasya strongly criticised the man’s conduct, terming it exploitative and disrespectful.

The MP alleged that the foreigner routinely approaches women in public places, initiates conversations, and later posts the recorded interactions online.

“This man must be arrested for shaming our beautiful girls by recording them. This is unacceptable,” Salasya said, adding that he had watched the clips and believed the man deliberately manipulated the women.

Salasya further accused him of degrading Kenyan women by capturing and publishing the footage without consent.

He singled out one viral video in which the man reportedly approached a woman walking with her child, obtained her phone number, and later contacted her.

According to the legislator, stopping a mother in the presence of her child and later calling her was inappropriate and showed disregard for the child.

He suggested that if the two had met under different circumstances — without the child present — the situation might not have drawn as much concern.

As of February 14, 2026, the man, identified as Yaytseslav, also known as Vyacheslav Trahov, had drawn attention in several African countries, including Ghana and Kenya, for sharing videos of personal encounters with local women.

In the footage, he is seen approaching women in public spaces such as malls in Accra and Nairobi, recording the interactions. Reports indicate he allegedly used smart glasses to discreetly film both initial conversations and subsequent private meetings in hotels or short-term rentals.

Edited clips were later uploaded to platforms including TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, sparking debate around privacy, consent and the ethics of recording intimate interactions without approval.
