During his visit, President Chapo is also attending the 4th Kenya International Investment Conference (KIICO) at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, where he is the guest of honour. The conference has drawn investors, policymakers, and business leaders from across the globe.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said the visit offers both leaders a chance to review the progress of bilateral relations and discuss key political, economic, social, and security matters affecting their nations, Africa, and the wider world.

Mudavadi noted that the Kenya–Mozambique Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC), established in 1991, continues to serve as a vital platform for structured engagement on priority areas.

He recalled that the last session held in Maputo in August 2023 resulted in the signing of 13 agreements, marking a significant step in strengthening ties.

Mudavadi stressed the need to fast-track the implementation of these agreements, enhance trade facilitation, and activate the Joint Technical Committee on Trade to maximise mutual benefits.
