President Uhuru Kenyatta, leading the African Union Election Observation Mission in South Africa, convened with the nation’s security officials on Monday, in anticipation of Wednesday’s General Elections.

The security personnel, comprising members of the National Operational and Intelligent Structure, convened under the leadership of Major General Mashadi Selepe of the South African Police Service in Johannesburg on Monday evening.

The primary objective of the gathering was to deliberate on security protocols for the impending General Elections scheduled for May 29th.

Additionally, Uhuru held discussions with South Africa’s Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo, regarding the judiciary’s pivotal role in the electoral process.

During these deliberations, there was a focal point on the judiciary’s responsibility in upholding the rule of law and ensuring the equitable and transparent resolution of any electoral disputes.
