Two individuals, including a young boy, were harmed in Rapogi Village, Migori County, amid a confrontation between opposing political factions during a funeral.
The clash ensued between groups supporting Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko and those backing Uriri MP Mark Nyamita.
Amidst the chaos, gunfire erupted, prompting attendees to flee for safety.

The longstanding animosity between the two factions turned the funeral into a scene of conflict. Governor Ayacko condemned the incident, attributing it to the MP’s alleged instigation of violence in the area.

In response, Nyamita accused the governor of using violence as a distraction from his own shortcomings. Both parties criticized the use of violence in politics and accused each other’s security teams of aggression.
