A gas cylinder storage facility was rocked by an explosion in the early hours of Friday, February 6, 2026, at Kisumu Ndogo area in Donholm, Nairobi, sparking fear and confusion among local residents.
The blast, which occurred opposite the well-known Triple K eatery, ignited a large fire that was visible from different sections of the estate. Witnesses said a powerful bang shook nearby homes, forcing residents to flee outdoors in search of safety.

Fire and emergency response teams were quickly deployed to the scene and are working to control the flames and stop the fire from spreading to neighbouring structures. Thick plumes of smoke filled the sky as efforts to extinguish the blaze continued.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether there were injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident.
