In a recent development concerning the ongoing infrastructure improvements along Kitui County Assembly Road, local business owners have received reassurances that they will not be displaced from their current locations. This announcement comes amid concerns over potential disruptions to business operations in the area.
According to Fredrick Kimanga, the Minister of Lands and Urban Development for Kitui County, there will be no displacement of businesspersons along the stretch from Kitui County Assembly Road to Matinyani stage. This decision aims to minimize the impact on local businesses and ensure continuity in their operations.
Moreover, in a collaborative effort between business owners near the Kitui County Referral Hospital gate and the Chamber of Commerce, an agreement has been reached to allocate space for vehicles servicing the hospital. This initiative seeks to address the needs of the hospital while also accommodating the interests of local businesses.
Kimanga clarified that any previous letters issued to businesspersons regarding potential relocation are now considered null and void. He urged business owners to maintain a distance of four meters from the road, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety regulations while ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.
This announcement provides much-needed clarity for local business owners, alleviating concerns about potential disruptions to their livelihoods.
