A 50-year-old man has been discovered dead in his house following an assault in Embali village, Vihiga County.
Police identified the victim as Frank Atero Indiakha, noting he sustained visible leg injuries, including a fractured femur, during the attack.

Although the motive remains unclear, officers said the deceased had named his attackers before succumbing to the injuries at his home. A manhunt for the three suspects is currently underway.
The body was taken to the mortuary for a postmortem as investigations continue. Authorities noted that cases of fatal assaults have been rising in the region.
Separately, in Nairobi’s Mlango Kubwa area, Ian Maina, 38, died on September 26, 2025, after being struck during a fight. Police reported the altercation started after one man accused the other of stealing his phone.
The suspect allegedly hit Maina on the neck, causing him to collapse. He was rushed to hospital but later died. Police intervened to save the suspect from a mob that had turned violent after learning of Maina’s death.
Both bodies are awaiting autopsies as police pursue investigations.
