In a statement, Kindiki emphasized the importance of political tolerance and issue-focused dialogue, stressing that violence and inflammatory rhetoric have no place in Kenya’s democratic space.
“Our nation must uphold democratic tolerance and promote issue-based political engagement. Resorting to insults, violence, or divisive speech to express differing political views undermines our values,” he said.
He further noted, “We owe it to future generations to build a peaceful, respectful, and cohesive nation, even when we hold opposing policy views.”
The disturbance occurred during the DCP launch on Musa Gitau Road, Lavington, when a group of unidentified individuals stormed the event, seemingly intending to disrupt proceedings.
By the time of the incident, Gachagua had concluded his address and introduced the party’s interim officials. Police swiftly intervened, firing warning shots to scatter the crowd.

Several of the troublemakers were caught in the commotion and allegedly assaulted, while security personnel ensured party officials were evacuated safely.
