On Tuesday, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition unveiled a significant reshuffle of its top organs, a move aimed at reinvigorating the alliance and sharpening its political approach ahead of key national engagements.
The changes were agreed upon during a joint meeting of the Azimio Council and the National Executive Committee, chaired by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Several senior leadership appointments were ratified during the session.
Speaking later on Tuesday, Sifuna said ODM continues to be represented within Azimio and still views the coalition as its political base.
“ODM has representation in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition, and we remain members of that alliance,” Sifuna said during an interview on Citizen TV.
He congratulated the coalition’s leadership and the newly appointed officials, noting that the transition had not destabilised the alliance.
“I congratulate the new office bearers and wish them success. They have the full support of ODM as long as we remain part of the Azimio Coalition,” he added.
Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition comprises several political parties and leaders united under a broad political framework.
In the latest appointments, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was named Party Leader, Suba MP Caroli Omondi was appointed Secretary General, while former Nairobi Town Clerk Philip Kisia took up the role of Executive Director.

The coalition said the leadership changes were driven by shifting political dynamics and were designed to enhance coordination and effectiveness within its ranks.
“These adjustments are part of a deliberate strategy to reposition and revitalise the coalition,” Azimio said in a statement, adding that the aim is to strengthen unity, cohesion, and efficiency as the alliance advances its national agenda.
The meeting, chaired by Uhuru in his capacity as Azimio Council chairperson, brought together senior leaders to review the coalition’s structure, political landscape, and long-term direction.
Azimio also reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive and forward-looking governance, saying the reorganisation is intended to better address national challenges and serve the interests of Kenyans.
