Kitui County Governor, Dr. Julius Makau Malombe, has issued a stern message to Senator Enock Kiio Wambua, urging him to set aside personal interests and focus on his oversight duties instead of engaging in clashes with the county government.
Speaking in Kitui on Wednesday, Malombe emphasized the importance of Senator Kiio’s role in oversight and urged him to refrain from actions that hinder effective governance. He called upon Kiio to allocate time and effort towards serving the people of Kitui diligently.

“In light of recent events, it’s apparent that Senator Kiio’s attention seems fixated on the 2027 elections, sidelining his crucial oversight responsibilities. I respectfully urge Senator Kiio to reconsider his priorities. Rather than engaging in divisive campaign tactics and employing inappropriate language, let us unite in our duty to oversee and ensure effective governance. Our community looks up to us to address their needs and concerns,” Malombe asserted.
Governor Malombe stressed the need for Senator Kiio to redirect his focus from gubernatorial campaigns towards advocating for substantial development projects in Kitui. He underscored the necessity for leaders committed to tangible progress and dedicated to improving the lives of constituents.
Malombe emphasized that Senator Kiio should prioritize legislative activities, oversight, constituent services, representation, and committee participation, all geared towards advancing the welfare of the people of Kitui rather than pursuing personal gain.

The call from Governor Malombe signifies a plea for cooperation and a reminder of the responsibilities entrusted to elected officials for the betterment of their constituents.
