Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has announced that he will run for governor in the 2027 General Election, vowing to transform the capital if elected.
He made the announcement on Sunday during a worship service at Jesus Is Alive Ministries Church, hosted by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru. Mosiria pointed to his stints in different county departments as preparation for the top seat, saying he had overseen the setting up of Nairobi’s first working ICU and medication supply while in health, and later worked to improve cleanliness in the environment docket before moving to customer service.

In his current role, he said, he had stepped in to help vulnerable women and children and taken up their concerns. He claimed women in Nairobi had declared him their leader, and that residents told him his small office was doing work equal to that of the governor. He said he works around the clock and would do even more if elected.
Mosiria urged other aspirants to sell their agendas to Kenyans rather than rely on violence or intimidation, saying he would return to the church for a thanksgiving service after the election if successful. Describing himself as “Mr Fix It,” he said Nairobi residents seeking change should look to him.
He also expressed support for former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, calling him a leader chosen by God and citing his service in the education and interior dockets.
In November 2025, Mosiria was moved to head Citizen Engagement and Customer Service in changes contained in a circular dated November 18, 2025, signed by Governor Johnson Sakaja. The memo, issued under Section 45(5) of the County Government Act 2012, reassigned several chief officers with immediate effect. As the former Environment boss, Mosiria was known for conducting raids and operations against people and entities violating the law, often recording them for his social media pages, including TikTok.
