Pope Francis expressed condemnation for the significant rise in attacks targeting Jews globally, particularly since the outbreak of the conflict in Gaza on October 7.
In a letter addressed to “My Jewish brothers and sisters in Israel,” the Pope, representing Catholics, voiced deep concern over the surge in anti-Semitic incidents worldwide.
He attributed this trend to the divisive attitudes stemming from the Israel-Hamas conflict, emphasizing the urgent need for collaborative efforts to combat anti-Semitism and anti-Judaism.
Additionally, Pope Francis called for prayers for the safe return of hostages held by Hamas since the initial attack, which resulted in numerous casualties and hostage situations.
