The High Court has excluded the late Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Maghoha from the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) case.
This decision came after lawyer Nelson Havi, who is contesting the new curriculum, filed an application to remove the late Magoha from the proceedings, which was subsequently approved.
Magoha, initially listed as the 8th respondent, had submitted responses and arguments through his lawyers Phiilip Murgor and George Ouma.
Simultaneously, the Attorney General has been granted seven days to submit the CBC Taskforce Report to the respondents and is scheduled to appear in court on February 15 for further guidance.
Nelson Havi’s lawsuit challenges the constitutionality of the CBC curriculum. The petitioner contends that the CBC was introduced without adequate preparation and consultation, asserting that its implementation, due to the ill-preparedness of teachers, poses a threat to the future of children.
