In a video announcement, Smriti revealed she has joined The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a global environmental organization, as the Executive Communications Officer for Africa.

“I’m shifting my focus to nature,” she said. “I’m thrilled to announce my new journey with The Nature Conservancy, an organization committed to protecting the lands and waters that sustain life. As TNC’s Executive Communications Officer for Africa, I look forward to sharing powerful stories of conservation for the benefit of both people and the planet.”

The Nature Conservancy, based in Arlington, Virginia, operates in 79 countries and all U.S. states.

Smriti’s new appointment comes roughly three months after she announced her exit from NTV, where she worked for over 16 years. During her time at the station, she anchored NTV Weekend Edition, NTV Tonight, and NTV Wild Talk.

“Sixteen-and-a-half years of service to Nation Media Group and the nation. Thank you for the trust,” she said in her farewell message.
