Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he had presented “Tehran’s views and perspectives” on ending the war, in a meeting with the Pakistani army chief in Islamabad.
It appears that the minister arrived in the Pakistani capital with a detailed proposal that he intends to present to the Pakistani mediator, according to BBC Persian correspondent Jiyar Gol in Islamabad.
The White House has confirmed that US special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, would also travel to Pakistan for talks with Iran on Saturday, although there is no word on whether they have already left.
Iranian officials have told the BBC that a meeting with the US is not on Araghchi’s agenda.
