She condemned the false rumours being shared on social media about Raila’s health and cause of death, urging Kenyans to honour the truth.
“He did not die the way people have been saying online,” she said. “Please, let us respect his memory.”
Winnie described Raila as active and disciplined to his final day, keeping up his daily exercise routine even while undergoing treatment.
“Every day, he would go for his walk — one round, then two,” she recounted. “But on that day, he did five rounds.”
She said her father’s passing was marked by dignity and strength, not frailty.
“He died strong — with courage, with pride, and with honour,” she said, adding, “That’s something to be proud of.”

Winnie went on to describe her father as both “Dad and superhero,” saying his wisdom, humour, and bravery shaped her life in countless ways.
“I don’t know who I’ll miss more — my Dad or my superhero,” she said tearfully, as mourners listened in silence.
Her tribute painted a portrait of a man who lived — and died — with resilience, grace, and an unwavering spirit, a fitting farewell to a leader who defined Kenya’s democratic struggle.
