The body of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has arrived in Kisumu aboard a military helicopter, marking a somber day for both the lakeside city and the country.
The aircraft touched down at Kisumu Airport at 7:20 a.m. under tight security, with military officers supervising the transfer of the casket to Mamboleo Stadium, the official venue for public viewing.

An interfaith prayer session will open the ceremony, led by religious leaders from various denominations, before members of the public are allowed to pay their last respects throughout the day.
Security has been heightened, with both the Kenya Defence Forces and the National Police Service maintaining order and ensuring safety. Authorities have appealed for calm and urged mourners to uphold peace and dignity during the proceedings.
