Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has shared her joy online after her son, Daniel, clinched victory in a Muay Thai competition, earning admiration for his discipline, resilience and technical excellence.
Posting on social media, the governor congratulated Daniel for excelling in Muay Thai—Thailand’s traditional martial art, widely referred to as the Art of Eight Limbs due to its use of fists, elbows, knees and shins.

She praised her son’s achievement, noting that the win reflected his hard work, physical strength, technical ability and unwavering determination, as well as the many hours of training and sacrifice invested in the sport.
Wavinya described the victory as proof that dedication and commitment pay off, encouraging Daniel to remain focused and continue pursuing his dreams, adding that the success signals the beginning of a greater journey ahead.
She later delighted followers by sharing a celebratory photo of Daniel biting his medal as he posed for the camera—a classic winner’s moment that quickly attracted congratulatory messages.
The post drew positive reactions from Kenyans nationwide, with many applauding the governor for proudly embracing motherhood and supporting sporting talent.
Muay Thai, also known as Thai boxing, is Thailand’s national sport and cultural martial art, developed centuries ago as a close-combat discipline that uses the entire body as a weapon.

This is not the first time Wavinya has publicly celebrated her son’s milestones. Earlier this year, she shared photos of Daniel’s graduation from Hult International Business School in London.
In that message, she expressed pride in his academic success and dedication, while also honouring her late husband, saying she believes he is watching proudly as their son continues to grow and succeed.
