Preliminary findings indicated that she may have been strangled by her attackers, with witnesses also noting that she appeared to have been struck on the head.
“One of her eyes had been removed. It looks like she was hit on the head and then strangled,” said a resident who helped discover the body.
The body was taken to the Egerton University mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination by government pathologists.
Locals have called for swift police action and justice for the young pupil, expressing outrage over the brutal killing.
“We have never experienced such an incident here. We want the suspects arrested and brought to justice,” one resident said.
The incident has intensified public concern over a rising wave of child kidnappings, defilement cases, and murders, prompting calls for stronger protection of children.

Women’s rights groups, including the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), have also raised alarm over increasing violence against women and children, citing several recent cases of brutality.
FIDA recently issued a 40-day ultimatum to the government to take action, warning of possible nationwide protests if the situation is not addressed.
