Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka have joined the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya in mourning Reverend Catherine Macharia, the wife of Bishop Dr. David Macharia, the church’s General Overseer.
Catherine passed away on May 14, according to a statement from the church leadership.

Gachagua paid tribute to her as a committed servant of God who lived a life dedicated to prayer and service to humanity.
“I have learnt of the passing on of Rev Catherine Macharia, wife of Bishop David Macharia, General Overseer of the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, with great sadness. Catherine lived a life of prayer, service to God and humanity,” he said.
He extended his condolences to Bishop Macharia, the family, and the church community, noting that they are in his thoughts and prayers during this difficult period.
“May Almighty God rest the soul of Rev Catherine in eternal peace and glory be upon her forever,” he added.
Kalonzo Musyoka also described the late reverend as a devoted minister who influenced many through mentorship and her ministry work.
“It is with deep sorrow that I have learned of the passing of Rev Catherine Macharia, beloved wife of Bishop Dr David Macharia. Rev Catherine was deeply dedicated to ministry and mentored many, leaving behind a legacy of faith, guidance and service that will continue to inspire generations,” he said.
The Full Gospel Churches of Kenya described her as a woman of strong faith, humility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to God’s work.
“She was a virtuous woman of faith, compassion, humility and unwavering dedication to the service of God,” the church said.

Her passing was described as a major loss to both her family and the wider Christian community, with the church highlighting her kindness, prayerful life, and dedication to ministry.
Her funeral service will be held on May 26 at Kunste Grounds in Nakuru starting at 10 am, followed by the burial on May 27 at the Sugunoi home grounds in Nakuru.
