Former President Uhuru Kenyatta participated in the Episcopal ordination ceremony held at St. Mary’s Msongari in Nairobi on Saturday. The event witnessed the ordination of Bishop-Elect Simon Peter Kamomoe and Bishop-Elect Wallace Ng’ang’a, with various senior state officials in attendance.

The ceremony attracted leaders from diverse political backgrounds, including Former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta, Chief Justice Martha Koome, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula, and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Other notable attendees included Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wanyi, and Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi.

Episcopal ordination signifies the culmination of the sacrament of Holy Orders, establishing the bishop as a legitimate successor of the apostles and incorporating them into the episcopal college for shared responsibility in overseeing all churches.
Additionally, the ordination bestows upon the bishop the roles of teaching, sanctifying, and governing within the church hierarchy.
