Renowned political analyst and prominent businessperson Dr. Augustine Kyalo Muli has spoken out against what he perceives as political theatrics within the leadership of Kitui County, expressing concerns over the authenticity of certain actions and motivations.
Dr. Kyalo, deeply embedded in the aspirations of Kitui, has voiced his discontent over recent developments, particularly highlighting the sudden shift in behavior from Senator Enock Kiio Wambua. The senator’s newfound enthusiasm for oversight, according to Dr. Kyalo, appears suspiciously timed with potential gubernatorial aspirations for the 2027 elections.
“We must question the sincerity of oversight that conveniently aligns with political ambitions,” Dr. Kyalo remarked.
Moreover, Dr. Kyalo expressed dismay over the public disagreement between Kitui County Women Representative Irine Kasalu and CS Peninah Malonza regarding relief efforts. He criticized the exploitation of essential matters for political advantage in the forthcoming elections, labeling it as troubling.
Reflecting on past criticisms directed at Governor Malombe and Speaker Kinengo, Dr. Kyalo pointed out what he perceives as a reversal in opinions, suggesting that political ambitions for 2027 are shaping these narratives. He accused Senator Kiio of opportunistically critiquing Governor Malombe for personal gain amidst the shifting political landscape.
The irony, Dr. Kyalo noted, extends to Women Representative Irine Kasalu, who now faces criticism herself. He questioned the trustworthiness of leaders who seemingly adapt their stances based on political circumstances, casting doubts on their integrity.

Dr. Kyalo urged the people of Kitui County not to be held hostage by leaders whose commitment fluctuates with each electoral cycle. He called for a united effort in selecting new leaders who prioritize service over self-interest, emphasizing the importance of genuine leadership and sustained development for the prosperity of Kitui County.
In conclusion, Dr. Kyalo reiterated the need for unity in building a Kitui County driven by authentic leadership, urging residents to choose representatives dedicated to the advancement of the region regardless of political agendas.
