President William Ruto’s Senior Economic Advisor, Moses Kuria, has stated that former President Uhuru Kenyatta has an important role to play in promoting national stability following his successful bid to regain control of the Jubilee Party.

In a statement shared on his official X account on Thursday, June 12, 2025, Kuria congratulated Uhuru on reclaiming leadership of the former ruling party.
He expressed optimism that under Uhuru’s guidance, Jubilee could serve as a unifying force amid the country’s deepening political divisions.
“Congratulations to my elder brother, President Uhuru Kenyatta, for taking back the reins of the Jubilee Party. At a time when many are fanning tensions and divisions, Jubilee—under your leadership—has a critical role in helping safeguard the nation. The future is bright,” Kuria wrote.
Kuria’s comments followed a major legal victory for Uhuru earlier that day, when the High Court upheld the outcomes of the Jubilee Party’s Special National Delegates Convention (SNDC) held in May 2023.
The court ruling officially reinstated Uhuru as party leader and validated changes to the party’s leadership structure.
The ruling also confirmed Saitoti Torome as National Chairman and Jeremiah Kioni as Secretary-General, effectively removing the faction led by EALA MP Kanini Kega and nominated MP Sabina Chege, who had previously claimed leadership of the party.
Uhuru’s path back to leadership was further smoothed by Jubilee Chairman Nelson Dzuya, who withdrew support from the Kega-led group and filed a consent recognizing the legitimacy of the 2023 SNDC resolutions.
