Police in Gatanga, Murang’a County, are investigating the murder of 72-year-old Anjeline Kanyi Waweru, who was found stabbed to death in her home.

According to authorities, the elderly woman was alone in the house when she was attacked on June 12. Her body was discovered with stab wounds to the neck, right arm, and elbow.
She was rushed to Kirwara Level Four Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. A blood-stained kitchen knife believed to have been used in the attack was recovered from the scene.
Police say the suspect fled and the motive for the killing remains unclear. The body was taken to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Kegogi, Kisii County, a 25-year-old woman, Sharon Kemunto, was found dead outside her home following a domestic dispute.
Her body, discovered on June 12, bore visible bruises on the face, neck, and head, with blood coming from her mouth. Police suspect she was assaulted with a water pipe, which was found at the scene.
Her husband has been arrested in connection with the incident. The body was taken to the mortuary for further examination and investigations are ongoing.
