Njoro Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Mokin Ptang’uny on Tuesday confirmed that calm had been restored, with residents resuming their usual activities.
“Peace has returned, and people are back to their daily routines. We encourage continued peaceful coexistence, as this is the only way to achieve lasting stability and growth,” Ptang’uny said.
The protests had seen demonstrators block the Mau Narok–Narok road, sparking ethnic tensions after a vehicle rushing a patient to hospital was attacked.
To curb further chaos, Nakuru County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara imposed a 7 pm to 5 am curfew for seven days starting Friday last week. Security personnel have maintained heavy patrols as local leaders push for dialogue and reconciliation.

Kibaara cautioned that troublemakers would face consequences.
“The curfew will be strictly observed, and anyone attempting to disrupt peace will be dealt with according to the law,” he stated.
