Man’s Body Found in River Athi After Assault Incident

On September 14, 2024, the body of 23-year-old Amos Walale was discovered floating in River Athi in Athi River, Machakos County.

Police reported that Walale had been reported missing following an assault on a local resident on the night of September 13. It is believed that he may have drowned while trying to escape arrest by fleeing towards the river after the attack.

The body has been taken to Shalom Mortuary for an autopsy.

In a separate incident in Korogocho slums, Fredrick Onyango was found dead in his home. Neighbors grew concerned when Onyango, who had gone to sleep without any reported issues, did not wake up. Upon checking, they found him lifeless on his mattress.

Police noted that there were no visible injuries on Onyango’s body. His remains have been transferred to City Morgue for a post-mortem examination.
