Makueni: Deputy Governor Launches Kenya Philanthropy Forum to Empower Local Communities

Makueni Deputy Governor H.E. Lucy Mulili inaugurated the inaugural Kenya Philanthropy Forum on Thursday, drawing over 200 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from across the county.

The forum, themed “Community Narratives: A Tool for Empowerment and Building Influence,” aims to empower local communities to access better opportunities through community-based empowerment.

In her address to the attendees, Mulili highlighted the significant influence of local community narratives on policy-making decisions, emphasizing the importance of people’s stories for development. She stressed that transforming these narratives would greatly contribute to county empowerment.

Mulili welcomed the partnership in the county and urged all organizations present to embrace narrative initiatives, citing their effectiveness in driving societal change.

The forum signifies a concerted effort to harness philanthropic efforts for community development and empowerment in Makueni County.
