Kimeli assumes the position following a competitive and transparent hiring process carried out in line with the Kenya Roads Act and other applicable public service regulations.
He brings nearly three decades of experience in infrastructure development, strategic programme management, and leadership within the roads sector.
KeNHA Board Chairperson Winfrida Ngumi expressed confidence in Kimeli’s ability to lead the Authority, saying he is well placed to enhance efficiency, accountability, and service delivery while overseeing the development of safe and resilient highway infrastructure that supports national growth and regional integration.

Ngumi added that the Board congratulates Kimeli on his appointment and has pledged full support as he takes up the role.
His appointment comes as Kenya continues to expand and upgrade its road network to address increasing transport needs and strengthen regional connectivity.
KeNHA is tasked with the development, management, and maintenance of national highways, which are critical to trade, mobility, and economic development.
Industry observers say consistent leadership at the Authority will be vital in driving forward major highway projects and maintenance programmes currently underway across the country.
With his extensive background in the roads sub-sector, Kimeli is expected to bolster project implementation and improve operational performance at the agency.
