An Iranian state television presenter has “ignored” Trump’s announcement about destroying the Fordow nuclear site network, adding that “only two tunnels leading into and out of Fordow have been destroyed”.
Iranian official media began to downplay the attacks early on, calling them “unconfirmed reports”.
Morteza Heydari, spokesman for the crisis management of Qom province, who had confirmed the attack on “part” of Fordo, later hastened to say that the entire province was “completely calm”.
Iranian media also tried to downplay the explosions by saying they were “not very serious”.
Meanwhile, Iran is facing a severe lack of access to the Fordow area, citing “enemy attacks” as the reason. This has led to a reduction in the number of videos and images sent to the BBC and shared on social media, meaning we have to rely more on Iranian media and state media videos and their own accounts.
