De Laurentiis, also a renowned film producer, shared a photo of himself with De Bruyne on social media alongside the caption, “Welcome Kevin!”

The Belgian midfielder is reported to have signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for a third. At Napoli, he will reunite with his Belgium teammate Romelu Lukaku and team up with former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

De Bruyne, 33, left City at the close of the season after a highly successful ten-year stint under Pep Guardiola, during which he won six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League in 2023.

However, recurring hamstring injuries in recent seasons have limited his game time, affecting his consistency on the pitch.

Napoli have secured one of Europe’s elite midfielders as they aim to reinforce their squad ahead of a demanding campaign that includes defending the Serie A title and competing in the expanded Champions League.

Under new manager Antonio Conte, Napoli edged out Inter Milan to claim the Serie A crown on the final day of the season—marking their second league title in three years.

Unlike Inter, who reached the Champions League final but suffered a 5-0 defeat to PSG, Napoli had the advantage of focusing solely on domestic competition.
