The deadline for applications to the March intake at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) campuses via KUCCPS is Tuesday, January 27.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) opened its online portal for the March 2026 intake on January 7, allowing KCSE candidates from previous years up to 2024 to apply.

KUCCPS clarified that candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE examinations will apply for placement in the September 2026 intake, which will be announced later. The main annual placement cycle for public universities and colleges usually opens in late March or early April, with revisions carried out in May and June.

All applications must be submitted online through the KUCCPS portal, and no physical documents are required during the application stage, as the system verifies applicants’ qualifications electronically.

KUCCPS Acting CEO Agnes Wahome cautioned applicants against sharing KCSE certificates or result slips with anyone, including cybercafé attendants, noting that such documents are not required for placement.

Applicants seeking assistance are encouraged to visit KMTC campuses or nearby Huduma Centres, which are considered safer options for internet access.

KMTC is among 153 public colleges whose students are eligible for Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) funding. The KUCCPS portal lists 108 KMTC institutions, including main and satellite campuses spread across the country.

With a presence in most counties, KMTC is one of the region’s largest health training institutions, offering more than 126 programmes at certificate, diploma and higher diploma levels. These cover areas such as Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography, Dental Technology and Public Health, alongside specialised short courses.

The application deadline coincides with the opening of Kenya’s first National Career Conference and Exhibition at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). The free three-day event, which runs until Thursday, brings together students, parents, universities, TVET institutions and other education sector stakeholders.

Held under the theme “Informed Career Choices: A Skilled and Competitive Workforce,” the conference aims to help learners and parents better understand career pathways, emerging skills and the evolving higher education landscape, enabling more informed placement decisions.
