A tragic incident unfolded in Mwihoko, Githurai subcounty, where a 45-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 16-year-old daughter to death and seriously injured his wife during a domestic dispute.
The incident came to light after the landlord of the man’s residence reported the incident to the police. Following an argument with his wife, the man had left the house, only to return later and forcefully enter the premises.
A struggle ensued as the wife attempted to prevent him from taking their three-year-old son. In a fit of rage, the man grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his wife on the head. He then turned his aggression towards his daughter, who was screaming for help, and fatally stabbed her in the back.
The man fled the scene, leaving the knife and his unharmed son behind. Neighbors rushed the injured mother and daughter to Ruiru Subcounty Hospital, where the daughter was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival. The mother is currently receiving treatment for her injuries and is reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter and are actively searching for the suspect.
