Bodies of 6 Kenyans Slain by Al Shabaab in Somalia Airborne to Isiolo

The remains of six Kenyan traders brutally gunned down by Al Shabaab militants in Dhobley town, Somalia, on Friday, have been transported back to Kenya.

According to a police document, a helicopter owned by the Kenya Defence Forces was deployed on Saturday morning to transport the bodies, which were then flown to Isiolo town.

“At around 0940hrs today, 30/03/2024, a Kenya Air Force helicopter airlifted the bodies from Atmis Dhobley, Somalia, to Isiolo. The safe arrival of the bodies in Isiolo was confirmed via mobile communication,” stated the report.

The six victims, who had crossed the Kenya-Somalia border to conduct business in shops located on the Somali side, fell victim to a vicious ambush by the terrorist group at approximately 7 am.

Confirming the tragic incident, Garissa County Police Commander John Samburumo revealed that the assailants, with their faces concealed, launched a sudden attack, firing indiscriminately and killing four individuals instantly. Two additional victims succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The perpetrators swiftly fled the scene following the assault.

Emerging reports suggest that the victims may have been targeted based on their perceived religious affiliation.
