Al-Shabaab Militants Kill Six Kenyan Traders in Dhobley Town Ambush

Six Kenyan traders lost their lives in an attack by suspected Al-Shabaab militants in Dhobley town near the Kenya-Somalia border.

The victims, who had ventured into Somalia to open their shops, were ambushed by gunmen driving a probox, resulting in the deaths of four immediately and two later succumbing to injuries in the hospital.

Police Commander John Samburumo confirmed the incident, urging caution among Kenyan traders in the area.

The authorities are treating the attack as a cross-border issue.

County Commissioner Mohamed Ramadhan stated that investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the assault, with reports suggesting it may be linked to religious affiliations.

Plans are in place to transport the victims’ bodies to Garrisa town for further proceedings.
