Athletics Kenya Mourns the Death of Uasin Gishu Vice Chairman Joseph Chemuren

The athletics community in Kenya is in mourning following the death of Joseph Chemuren, who served as the vice chairman of Uasin Gishu County for Athletics Kenya. Chemuren, who also held the role of an international technical official (ITO) in athletics, passed away, leaving a void in the sport.

In a statement released on Saturday, Athletics Kenya expressed its condolences and eulogized Chemuren as a dedicated individual who served the sport with diligence. The communique highlighted his significant contributions to athletics, emphasizing that his services would be greatly missed.

The statement read, “It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Joseph Chemuren, who was until his demise an athletics International Technical Official. The Late Joseph served in various Local, National, Area, Regional, Continental, and International Athletics assignments. He was a key pillar in technical aspects, offering technical advice during competitions.”
