Delivering his Good Friday message, Archbishop Kivuva also emphasized the importance of road safety, urging motorists to remain vigilant to avoid accidents during the Easter period.

He highlighted the challenges Kenyans are facing due to the high cost of living, calling on leaders to implement strategies to stabilize the economy, saying, “Prices are rising every day, and this is affecting citizens.”

The Archbishop advised young people not to allow themselves to be used to incite chaos or disrupt public peace, stressing the need for national unity and harmony.

He commended police officers for their role in safeguarding the nation and maintaining peace both locally and abroad.

“We pray for strength to defend our country and our faith, and to be men and women of conviction and resilience,” he said.

Archbishop Kivuva also reflected on the religious significance of Good Friday, reminding Christians of the importance of the Stations of the Cross during Lent—a time to reflect on sacrifice, love, and humility, and a call to follow Christ even through hardship.

In related developments, authorities in the Coast region have heightened security measures for the Easter holiday. A multi-agency task force has been deployed to boost safety, particularly focusing on road safety and preventing criminal activities.

Coast Regional Police Commander Ali Nuno assured both local residents and tourists of enhanced security, noting that officers are strategically stationed throughout the region.

“As a leading tourist destination, we guarantee safety for everyone visiting our beautiful coastline,” Nuno said.

He pointed out that many road accidents in the region stem from reckless driving, fatigue, and alcohol use.

“I urge all travelers to ensure they are driven by responsible individuals. We won’t condone road accidents in this region,” he warned.
