Uhuru’s Son Gun License Dispute Resolved with State Agreeing not to Disrupt his Firearm License

Jomo Kenyatta, the son of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, has decided to withdraw his lawsuit against the state regarding his gun license.

An agreement was reached between John Jomo Kenyatta, the Chief Licensing Officer, the Firearms Licensing Board, and the Attorney General, which was formalized in court.

Under the terms of the agreement, Justice Jairus Ngaah noted that the dispute was resolved, with the state agreeing not to disrupt Jomo’s firearm license. It was also stated that the state would adhere to the procedures outlined in the Firearms Act concerning Jomo’s case.

Negotiations between Uhuru’s son and the state began in December 2023 to settle the firearm license matter outside of court. Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia informed the court that discussions were ongoing, requesting a mention date for January 31, 2024, with the possibility of reaching a formal agreement at that time.
