President William Ruto has officially handed over a 10,000-litre milk cooling facility to Kangari United Dairy Cooperative Society in Kigumo Constituency, Murang’a County, as part of efforts to strengthen the dairy industry.
The President said the installation is meant to reduce milk wastage after harvest, promote value addition, and improve earnings for farmers, ultimately raising household incomes in the region.

He added that the project is part of a wider initiative to install 12 bulk milk coolers across Murang’a County to improve dairy processing and market access.
According to the Head of State, the programme will directly benefit over 3,600 dairy farmers, enabling them to collectively collect around 37,000 litres of milk daily.
The initiative falls under the government’s broader agricultural transformation agenda aimed at increasing productivity and boosting income levels among farming communities across the country.
